What you'll learn

The Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) is the mandatory entry-level safety certification required for all personnel working on offshore oil and gas installations, issued under the OPITO global standard.

What You Will Learn

  1. Offshore emergency procedures and muster station duties
  2. Helicopter safety briefing, boarding, and emergency exit procedures
  3. Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) – controlled underwater escape from a submerged helicopter simulation
  4. Sea survival techniques: lifejacket use, liferaft boarding, and casualty recovery
  5. Firefighting and self-rescue in offshore environments
  6. First aid fundamentals and emergency response roles
  7. Travel safely offshore and act decisively in emergencies


Delivery & Certification

Four days of intensive practical and theoretical training conducted at a certified OPITO-approved training centre. Includes pool-based HUET drills and live fire exercises. Graduates receive an OPITO BOSIET certificate valid for all offshore installations worldwide and recognised by operators including Shell, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, and NNPC.
