What you'll learn
The Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) is the mandatory entry-level safety certification required for all personnel working on offshore oil and gas installations, issued under the OPITO global standard.
What You Will Learn
- Offshore emergency procedures and muster station duties
- Helicopter safety briefing, boarding, and emergency exit procedures
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) – controlled underwater escape from a submerged helicopter simulation
- Sea survival techniques: lifejacket use, liferaft boarding, and casualty recovery
- Firefighting and self-rescue in offshore environments
- First aid fundamentals and emergency response roles
- Travel safely offshore and act decisively in emergencies
Delivery & Certification
Four days of intensive practical and theoretical training conducted at a certified OPITO-approved training centre. Includes pool-based HUET drills and live fire exercises. Graduates receive an OPITO BOSIET certificate valid for all offshore installations worldwide and recognised by operators including Shell, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, and NNPC.
