What you'll learn

The Oil Tank Familiarization (OTF) course provides the mandatory familiarization training required for all seafarers serving on oil tankers under STCW Regulation V/1-1.

What You Will Learn

  1. Tanker types, cargo systems, and pump room operations
  2. Properties and hazards of oil cargoes
  3. Tank entry procedures and enclosed space safety
  4. Inert gas systems and vapour control
  5. Pollution prevention and MARPOL compliance on tankers


Delivery & Certification

Three days of technical instruction and practical demonstrations. Certification is required for all personnel assigned to tanker duties and is recognised by international flag states.
