Programme overview

What you'll learn

The STCW Basic Safety Training is the internationally required entry-level certification for every seafarer working on commercial vessels under SOLAS regulations.

Course Modules

Over five intensive days, you cover four core IMO-mandated modules:

  1. Personal Survival Techniques – use of lifejackets, immersion suits, liferafts, and survival signals
  2. Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting – fire detection, extinguisher types, and practical firefighting drills
  3. Elementary First Aid – CPR, wound management, and casualty handling at sea
  4. Personal Safety & Social Responsibility – shipboard safety culture, environmental duties, and emergency procedures


Delivery & Certification

Delivered by IMO-accredited instructors with practical wet-drill and hot-fire components. On successful completion you receive an STCW Basic Safety certificate recognised by all flag states.
